Hidcote is praised as a classic example of compartmentalized garden style. It is clearly laid out in areas and has a more formal, structured feel. I tended to like the less formal areas along a stream that bubbles through it.
The pink blooms are candleabra primroses and I just love all the lush boggy plants. It is hard, however, not to have your breath taken away by the grandness of these vistas.
The light in the woodsy areas gives the garden a happy glow.
Surprise, rounding a corner you are greeted by these bird topiaries and a flock of pink tulips. All in all Hidcote was a wonderful garden. Plus I bought some unusual seeds in the gift shop. I hope the double morning glories will grow well for me as I have not seen them before.
